Mold Release Agents for RTM
Exhibitor Profile: Chem-Trend
Manufacturers who switch to closed molding processes need different mold release agents. “Typically, the RTM process or anything with closed mold means a harsh environment,” says Chem-Trend Director of North American Sales John Lundin. “The standard release agents employed don’t work.”
Lundin says many of his customers are adopting closed molding processes to take advantage of production efficiencies and to reduce environmental impacts. “
Chem-Trend will participate in an in-house demo presented by the Composites Mold Alliance at Composites 2010. “You’re able to produce more products per day than with open molding processes,” he says. “The secondary benefit is environmental. There are less VOCs produced in that process than the open molding process. It’s cleaner and a more friendly environment to operators and the environment in general to go to closed molding processes.”
Chem-Trend will be exhibiting at Booth #933
