Exhibitor Profile: IPS Weld-On

IPS Weld-On strives to develop structural adhesives that minimize surface preparation and gather strength quickly. The results are products that improve productivity and result in cost savings, says Karen Amoah, sales and marketing manager.

The company will feature its line of structural adhesives at Composites 2010, including the Weld-On SS300 for use in metal-to-metal and metal-to-composites bonding. “One application is for utility trucks that have the telescoping booms, and standing out at the end of the boom is the bucket that carries the utility guy. We’re bonding that entire boom structure for a large customer,” Amoah says. “They have two steel booms with a composite piece in the middle. The composite piece is designed to be your electrical conduit in the middle. We’re bonding the steel structures into the composites.”

The company also plans to unveil a new product line for the renewable energy market. “We’ve developed some new adhesives that we’re getting ready to introduce. But by the show we’ll have product data sheets available,” Amoah says.
