U of Maine’s ‘Bridge in a Backpack’
The University of Maine’s “Bridge-in-a-Backpack,” technology has garnered quite a bit of attention lately. At Composites 2010, Edwin Nagy of the university’s Advanced Engineered Wood Composites Center will discuss the system in detail and answer questions from contractors, manufacturers, bridge engineers and transportation officials.
“Everybody knows the U.S. infrastructure is in horrible shape and this is a one of the solutions,” he says. “We think this can solve a lot of the bridge issues for short and medium span bridges and in so doing can help increase the role of composites in infrastructure.”

That is nice to definitely find a site where the blogger knows what they are talking about.
